Short Stint, Long Term

Our entire lifetime is consumed with education and how to use it. Besides all the different schools we may attend, we receive even more education in the real world; family, friends, co-workers, bosses, media, government, strangers, the list goes on and on.

But, our most crucial form of education is discerning the truth between what is right and what is wrong, and acting on it. Time is important, because we only have so much time to use what we’ve consumed. When our bodies are all used up and the life we now know is over, the answer sheet comes out and it is then we find out if we have passed on to the next level.

God, Dean of the universe has given us more than enough material to study, and because he wants each of us to graduate into his mighty kingdom, he sent his star professor, Jesus, to lead us past all that can be destructive to our lives. For it is Jesus who offers the only course that will guide you on to the next level. If you dedicate your own life to his teachings and follow his principles your rewards will be ongoing.

Subjects taught, lessons learned,
Errors made, merits earned.
Choices given, decisions made,
Missing mark, passing grade.

Dependent on, freedom of,
Petty hate, endless love.
Past remembered, future dreams,
Lonely ones, united teams.

Simon says, Jesus walks,
Speech deceives, walking talks
Many roads, only way,
Darkened nights, lighted days.

Visions lost, renewed sight,
Never wrong, always right.
Empty feeling, fulfilled heart,
Break away, become part.

Tuning out, focused on,
Hopeful now, doubting gone.
Bearing cross, ceasing strife,
Earthly death, eternal life.

Become one of Christ’s students and emulate the life he lives for you, so that others too may pass on his teachings and become part of God’s glorious kingdom.
